Astrology

Definition & theoretical foundation

Astrology builds a natal chart from the date, time and place of birth. Its main axis is the triad of Sun (identity), Moon (emotional life) and Ascendant (outward stance). Around this triad orbit the eight planets of the solar system (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto), distributed across twelve houses and linked to each other by geometric aspects. The classical synthesis comes from Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos (2nd century). The modern psychological branch was founded by Dane Rudhyar in The Astrology of Personality (1936) and developed by Liz Greene from the 1970s onwards, in a Jungian, archetypal key. Positions are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris, derived from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory ephemerides.

What you'll learn about yourself

The app delivers a full natal chart, computed with the Swiss Ephemeris from your exact birth date, time and place. Each layer arrives with dedicated text, so you can move from the broad map to the technical detail at your own pace:

  • Founding triad: Sun, Moon and Ascendant in sign and house, with a reading of how they shape identity, emotional life and outward stance.
  • The eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, each in sign and house, with text that ties planetary function to the life area where it plays out.
  • Houses: the twelve life domains (identity, resources, communication, home, expression, work, partnership, transformation, expansion, purpose, community, inner life) populated by your dominant energies.
  • Planetary aspects: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines and oppositions between bodies in your chart, with a reading of what each combination produces: tension, flow, integration.
  • Elements and modalities: distribution across fire, earth, air and water, and across cardinal, fixed and mutable, showing which currents dominate and how they colour your temperament.
  • Sensitive points: North Node and Chiron, read as soul purpose and master wound around which your biography is organised.
  • Archetypal synthesis: an integrated narrative that weaves all the layers together.

Limitations & caveats

Astrology has no empirical support as a predictive system. Shawn Carlson's double-blind test (Nature, 1985) and the review by Geoffrey Dean and Ivan Kelly (2003) report null effects on identifying profiles or forecasting events. Modern psychological astrology, in the lineage of Rudhyar, Greene and Arroyo, accepts this caveat and shifts the axis toward a different aim: to offer a symbolic framework for self-knowledge and relational language. Agapone uses it in that register, as reflective reading.

Human Design

Definition & theoretical foundation

Human Design is a syncretic system formulated by Ra Uru Hu in Ibiza between 1987 and 1992, blending Western astrology, the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, the Hindu chakra system, the Kabbalistic tree of life, and an interpretive reading of quantum mechanics and neutrino physics. The personal map (the bodygraph) is drawn from two transits: the exact moment of birth and the position the Sun occupied roughly 88 days earlier (an 88° solar arc). The resulting diagram features 9 energy centres, 36 channels and 64 gates, from which the aura type, inner authority, decision strategy, profile, and incarnation cross are derived.

What you'll learn about yourself

  • Full bodygraph computed from your date, time and place of birth, rendered visually with the 9 centres.
  • Aura type (Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector or Reflector) with its recommended strategy.
  • Inner authority (Sacral, Emotional, Splenic, Ego, Self-projected, Mental or Lunar): your decision-making compass.
  • Complete profile (e.g. 3/5, 1/3, 6/2) with a reading of the two lines that compose it.
  • Defined vs open centres: what you project with consistency and where you absorb others.
  • Activated channels and signature gates, described one by one.
  • Incarnation cross that encodes your soul's purpose.

Everything navigable in layers: from the macro type down to each specific gate.

Limitations & caveats

Human Design is a modern esoteric framework with no empirical support, replication or peer review. It synthesises mystical traditions (I Ching, chakras, Kabbalah, astrology) using vocabulary that sounds scientific (“quantum”, “neutrino”, “mechanics”) that does not match how physics uses those terms. It works as a symbolic mirror, outside the scope of personality diagnosis or prediction. Its practical value lies in the rich language it offers for self-reflection, for describing energetic rhythms, and for distinguishing relational styles, always as a symbolic mirror.

Chinese Zodiac

Definition & theoretical foundation

The Chinese zodiac (sheng xiao, 生肖) assigns one of twelve animals (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig) to the year of birth, in a twelve-year cycle anchored to Jupiter's orbit. Each animal pairs with one of the five wu xing elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and with yin/yang polarity, producing a sexagenary cycle that repeats every sixty years. Unlike Western astrology, where the sun sign shifts each month, here the sign holds for the whole lunisolar year. Although the roots are pre-imperial, the system took canonical shape under the Han dynasty (2nd c. BCE), bound to the official calendar and to state divination.

What you'll learn about yourself

The app computes your annual animal from the Chinese lunisolar calendar and returns, first, the ruling element of your year (mu 木 wood, huo 火 fire, tu 土 earth, jin 金 metal, shui 水 water) and the yin/yang polarity, fixing your exact position in the sexagenary sixty-year cycle: an animal + element pairing that only repeats every six decades. You also get a reading of the affinity triads (san he 三合) and the clash relationships (xiang chong 相沖) against the other eleven energies, with an explanation of how you connect with each one. When birth-hour data is available, we add the monthly animal and the daily animal, classical refinements of Chinese astrology that most popular guides skip. Finally, we translate your animal's archetypal traits to your concrete case and shade them with the ruling element, closing with practical guidance: favourable rituals, heavy years (ben ming nian 本命年) and growth years. Original Chinese vocabulary always accompanied by translation.

Limitations & caveats

The Chinese zodiac is a traditional framework with no empirical validation: inferring personality from the year of birth is a cultural heuristic. Its value lies elsewhere: in a dense symbolic vocabulary, in intergenerational cultural transmission and in the bridge it offers between Asian and Western astrological traditions. It is best read as a language for self-reflection and a starting point for conversation.

Numerology

Definition & theoretical foundation

Pythagorean numerology reduces the full name and birth date to single digits between 1 and 9, preserving the master numbers 11, 22 and 33. Each letter receives a value from 1 to 9 by its position in the Latin alphabet; the values are summed and re-summed until a single digit remains. The name yields three numbers: the Expression (all letters), the Soul Urge (vowels only) and the Personality (consonants only). The birth date yields the Life Path. Their sum gives Maturity; the calendar year added to month and day of birth gives the Personal Year. The root is Pythagorean (6th c. BCE), where number meant cosmic order and musical ratio. The modern formulation was shaped by L. Dow Balliett (1903), Florence Campbell (1931) and Juno Jordan, who codified the method as it is practised today.

What you'll learn about yourself

You receive a classical Pythagorean analysis derived from your full name and date of birth, with each number presented as a rich, contextualised narrative. The Life Path is treated with an extensive interpretation of the central archetype of your existence: the master lesson running through your whole trajectory. The Expression Number reveals your innate talents and the mission your name inscribes in you. The Soul Urge brings to the surface the inner motivation that drives your deepest choices. The Personality Number describes the first impression you project into the world. The Maturity Number illuminates who you become after age 40, when the cycles converge. Your current Personal Year situates you within the 1-to-9 cycle you are living now, with a reading specific to the phase. Where applicable, you also receive your birthday number, master numbers (11/22/33), karmic numbers and challenges, always accompanied by practical suggestions aligned with your numerical profile.

Limitations & caveats

Numerology has no empirical basis: no controlled study shows correlation between reduced numbers and personality traits, compatibility or destiny. The reduction itself is arbitrary: the choice of base 9, the letter-to-number mapping and the special status of 11, 22 and 33 are inherited conventions that lack factual validation. Its value is strictly symbolic and reflective: the numbers work as prompts for introspection and shared language, sitting outside the scope of diagnosis, prediction or decision criterion. Use it as a mirror for your own reflection.
